*~ About Anamoya ~*
What is Anamoya?? It's a play on the word "Anemoia." Does that help? No, probably not. So, ok, Anemoia is like when you get homesick for a decade you weren't even alive for.
Like, imagine you're sitting in your bedroom listening to your older brother's old vinyls or CDs, staring at a poster of a decade you only read about in textbooks, and you feel this major ache like you missed out on the whole thing. It is super weird because the seventies, eighties, and nineties happened way before we even got here, but somehow you miss it anyway.
My cousin calls it fauxstalgia, but whatever it is, it makes you want to throw on some vintage clothes and pretend you are hanging out at a drive-in movie instead of dealing with algebra homework.
And? Well, here, the calendar never moves past 1997!!
This is NOT a costume thing and it's NOT some cheesy theme park, it's an actual trip back in time. Anamoya is what life felt like before everything got weird: hanging out, actually TALKING to people face to face, being bored in the good way.
Main Street is stacked: a real arcade, a photo studio with a darkroom, the library, and a convenience store with a whole WALL of video rentals (choose wisely, Mom said you can only get one).
Wander into the neighborhoods and it gets even better. Saturday block parties are basically like mandatory (in the best way), and Sundays are for riding bikes with your friends till the streetlights come on and somebody's mom starts yelling from the porch.
The internet wasn't in your pocket back then, it was a DESTINATION, and you had like an hour before someone needed the phone line back. That's the whole vibe here.
This isn't some off-grid or survival resort. It's an OFFLINE resort, where social media gets swapped for actual social LIFE.
